About Lillian

Seeker of beauty + light, sipper of teas, and recent cancer survivor.

I was born in Taiwan, raised on Long Island and now live in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley with my husband of 14 years.

As far as I can remember, I’ve always been a maker. From publishing pretend newspapers as a kid to making daisy bead bracelets as a teen, I've always loved creating things.

For some time after my college years, my creativity lay dormant as I pursued a master's in elementary education and worked jobs that I wasn't passionate about. I had a short stint in the corporate world before being let go during the recession, which propelled me into baking and blogging through my 30s. It was during this time, my creativity and entrepreneurship flourished.

In 2015, my husband and I moved to Taiwan for a year, and that’s when I discovered the meditative art form of brush calligraphy. After moving back to New York, I sought to share this newfound passion with others by teaching modern calligraphy workshops throughout the Tri-State area, as well as Houston, and even Taipei!

During the pandemic, I pressed pause on all things calligraphy and delved into other interests such as tea and photography.

However, everything came crashing down when I got sick and received a cancer diagnosis.

For most of my adult life, and especially this past year, I felt lost, searching for my purpose, wondering how others seemed to have it all figured out, or could bounce right back after life-altering events while I struggled to find my path.

I’ve come to realize that I don't have to confine myself to just one path or pursuit — as creatives, our journeys are ever-evolving. As humans, our stories are ever-changing.

As a survivor on a healing journey, I'm embracing all the things that bring a touch of beauty and light to each day—whether that be calligraphy, tea, photography, or something else entirely.

My hope is to help you do the same.

Thank you for being here.
