Brush calligraphy is not simply a beautiful art form; it can also be a meditative experience as you lose yourself in the rhythmic dance of brush on paper.
In this beginner-friendly class, Lillian Liming will introduce you to the fundamentals of modern brush calligraphy (with a brush pen).
We’ll begin by warming up with the essential brush strokes, review the lowercase alphabet, and practice creating a collection of serene words and phrases. This will enable you to craft your own hand-lettered artwork, serving as a gentle reminder to pause, and be fully present in your everyday life.
What’s included:
Guided instruction and hands-on practice
Take-home packet including a brush pen, practice worksheets, blank cards, and a personalized name card

Brush Calligraphy + Blooms
Join us at WATERGRASSHILL B&B for an exploration of brush calligraphy + tatakizome (flower hammering)!
In this beginner-friendly class, Lillian Liming will introduce you to the fundamentals of brush calligraphy alongside the art form of tatakizome, also known as flower hammering.
We'll start with mastering the basic brush strokes, then explore the lowercase alphabet, and practice creating words and phrases.
Tatakizome, the Japanese technique of hammering flowers and leaves onto paper, will add a splash of natural color and textural element to your calligraphy, transforming your artwork into a tangible reminder to slow down, and appreciate the beauty all around us.
Each participant will receive: a take-home packet including a personalized canvas pouch, brush pen, practice worksheets, and blank cards.

Create a little calm this holiday season - make your own beautiful greeting cards, gift bags, and tags with brush calligraphy!
In this beginner-friendly workshop. Lillian Liming will introduce you to the fundamentals of brush calligraphy with a brush pen. We'll start by warming up with a few essential brush strokes and then practice a set of holiday greetings and simple illustrations to beautify your paper goods. Everything will be provided for you to get your creativity on!
Each participant will receive a personalized packet that includes: a medium-tip brush pen, alphabet exemplars, lettering worksheets, blank gift tags, cards, envelopes, and kraft gift bags.
Tea & sweets will be served.
