TAKE A MOMENT TO SLOW DOWN AND EMBRACE YOUR CREATIVITY!
Brush calligraphy is not simply a beautiful art form; it can also be a meditative experience as you lose yourself in the rhythmic dance of brush on paper.
In this beginner-friendly class, Lillian Liming will introduce you to the fundamentals of watercolor brush calligraphy.
We’ll begin our time with a brief tea ceremony to quiet our minds and let go of the week’s worries. This is called “mushin” (Japanese) or “wuxin” (Chinese), a state of “empty mind” practiced by artists and martial artists.
After savoring our tea, we’ll warm up with the essential brush strokes, review the lowercase alphabet, and practice creating a collection of serene words and phrases. This will enable you to craft your own hand-lettered artwork, serving as a gentle reminder to pause, and be fully present in your everyday life.
No watercolor or lettering experience necessary. All supplies will be provided to use in class.

Class size is limited to 10 attendees - tickets are first come, first served

Due to the nature of these workshops, tickets are non-refundable. In the event of inclement weather, workshop may be subject to cancellation at the discretion of the instructor. Attendees will be notified via email and all payments will be refunded.
