Getting Ready for Fall...
Hello Friends, I hope summer has treated you well. I, for one am ready for the cooler weather but not yet ready for sweaters and pumpkin recipes. Here's a glimpse of what I've been enjoying in NYC (and at home) this summer through Instagram - I'll be back soon with a longer update to share some thoughts on life and blogging...getting ready for some changes this fall.
Savor these last days of summer!
Savor these last days of summer!
- Labor Day caprese salad with perfectly ripe, juicy tomatoes from Fresh Direct.
- I made a chocolate & salted caramel (ice cream) cake for the hubs' birthday.
- Celebrating both a friend and my birthdays with a gluten-free matcha-chocolate crepe at Eight Turn Crepe
- Coffee gelato at A.B. Biagi - I'm in love with their bird logo...kinda wanted to take a bunch of napkins home with me.
- Sweet treats my hubs picked up for my birthday from gluten free bakery, Pip's Place. My favorite was the blueberry fairy cake (mini bundt).
- Amazing tacos at Sembrado NYC with a new friend.
- Vibrant daisies at Sky Ice Sweet & Savory in Park Slope, Brooklyn
- Guava ice cream at Sundae & Cones
- Love this colorful macaron tower at Macaron Parlour - my fave macarons so far in NYC! (Though I have yet to try Laduree)
- A simple summer salad I threw together for lunch one day... peaches and tomatoes with feta, turkey, avocado over arugala.
- Grilled calamari at Taverna Kyclades - my first time eating Greek food in Astoria! This was an amazing dish, and for under $15, what. a. deal.
- A "palette" of Asian-inspired ice cream flavors from Sky Ice Sweet & Savory (see #7). My fave is the Thai tea ice cream. I just love tea-flavored ice creams.
